We continually seek qualified candidates to join in contributing to our outstanding global team.ARINC is seeking a Communication System Operational Performance Analyst to support their GLOBALink Engineering (GLE) department located in the Annapolis, Maryland headquarters. GLE is an engineering organization within the Aviation Solutions division of ARINC.The Aviation Solutions Division of ARINC provides communication products and services for commercial and business airline customers. GLE provides the engineering for a high availability 24x7 data link system, called GLOBALink, that enables air crews to communicate and exchange information with ground crews and airline host systems anywhere in the world and without interruption. GLOBALink provides clear, accurate, unambiguous data communications directly to the crew, improves flight deck processes and increases airline efficiency.GLOBALink provides datalink communication to aircraft via VHF radio, satellite radio, and HF radio. Optimal utilization of the scarce bandwidth available for each of these media is imperative. Meeting customer expectations for performance and cost is also required.Responsibilities for the Communication System Operational Performance Analyst include:• Becoming familiar with the communication protocols for all elements of the existing GLOBALink system• Performing quantitative analysis of performance of all elements of the existing GLOBALink system• Developing quantitative estimates of anticipated performance for proposed modifications to the GLOBALink system, including Data Comm for the FAA• Communicating the results of analysis in written reports and formal presentations• Identifying data required to perform quantitative analyses• Identifying personnel whose assistance is required to secure access to data required for analyses• Securing data required for analyses• Developing proposed modifications to improve performance of GLOBALink communications algorithms• Communicating proposed modifications in presentations, and as formal requirements Qualifications Required Experience:Candidates must have two years of experience performing non-trivial mathematical analysis and providing written and verbal presentations.Experience in an academic environment is acceptable.Education and Certification Requirements:Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical equivalent is required and a Master degree is preferred.
