ARINC is seeking a Software Engineer to support their GLOBALink Engineering (GLE) department located in the Annapolis, Maryland headquarters. GLE is a SEI/CMM level 3 engineering organization within the Aviation Solutions division of ARINC.
The Aviation Solutions division provides communication products and services for commercial and business airline customers. GLE develops systems and solutions for providing a high availability 24x7 data link services. Data link services provide clear, accurate, unambiguous data communications to enable the air crews to communicate and exchange information with ground crews and airline host systems. GLE systems are used in most of the continental US and many countries across the world.
The candidate will perform full life-cycle software development including eliciting customer and technical requirements; designing system and software solutions; and implementing, integrating and testing approved solutions. Our Linux based software is part of a mission critical aviation communications network where protocols and high availability are integral to the software development. The candidate will develop on one or more of our Linux based software applications including: Message Processing, Network Management, Command and Control GUIs, and Databases.

The ideal candidate will possess seven (7) or more years of software development experience.
The candidate must possess solid writing skills and strong verbal communication skills to work in a highly integrated team environment.
Desired Experience:
Linux application development and one or more of the following technology areas: Java, Python, C, Oracle/SQL, Network Protocols, Data Communications, High Availability.
The ideal candidate will have led small software teams.
Education Required:
Typically requires a Masters degree in a technical area, will consider a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with equivalent experience.
