ARINC in Norfolk, Virginia is looking for a Network Management Engineer with significant Netcool experience to support our Advanced Aviation and Maritime Division.

The Network Engineer will:

Support Communication System Implementation Projects with the ARINC customer.

Provide Operation Support System Implementation and/or Network Management System Projects to
Contribute to Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Test & Evaluation, Training, Operational Support, Operational Support Systems Implementation, Network Management Implementation.

Develop and articulate business, functional, and technical requirements for enterprise systems.

Provide competency in design and implementation of enterprise environments that require the business integration of network management tools such as Micromuse, Info Vista, Visionael, HP Open View, Remedy, Concord, BMC, and SMARTS.

Provide competency in supporting programs and scripts in Perl, shell script, or equivalent languages.

Support UNIX (Sun, HP, IBM, Linux) and Microsoft Windows NT infrastructures.

Work with applications of Java, HTML, XML, and other Internet-based programming languages and methods in configuring and administering OSS. Qualifications Required: Twelve (12) years of hands-on experience with Communication System Implementation Projects or B.S. Degree in Relevant Field plus (+) 8 years hands on experience in Operation Support System Implementation and/or Network Management System Projects to include three (3) of the following four (4) areas: Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements; Test & Evaluation; Training; Operational Support, Operational Support Systems Implementation; Network Management Implementation. Demonstrated competency in developing and articulating business, functional, and technical requirements for enterprise systems. Demonstrated competency in design and implementation of enterprise environments that require the business integration of network management tools such as Micromuse, Info Vista, Visionael, HP Open View, Remedy, Concord, BMC, and SMARTS. Demonstrated competency in supporting programs and scripts in Perl, shell script, or equivalent languages. Demonstrated competency in UNIX (Sun, HP, IBM, Linux) and Microsoft Windows NT infrastructures. Demonstrated application of Java, HTML, XML, and other Internet-based programming languages and methods in configuring and administering OSS. Demonstrated application of the SQL language, and database applications such as Oracle, Sybase, MySQL, and SQL Server in OSS deployments.

Desired: Strong preference for: Netcool Certification NMS design, configuration, testing trouble shooting and support in a DoN environment

Education or Certification Requirements:Technical Training in Communication Technology with an emphasis in Operational Support Systems to include performance, fault, configuration, and provision management
B.S. Degree in Relevant Field can substitute for 4 years experience in Operation Support System Implementation and/or Network Management System Projects
